Marshall Municipal Utilities Announces Employee of the Quarter

December 4, 2025:  Marshall – Marshall Municipal Utilities has announced Austin Shaver as their “Employee of the Quarter” for the quarter ending September 30, 2025. 

In nominating Shaver, Underground Facilities Director Grant Piper highlighted a number of Shaver’s contributions.

“Austin shows excellent ability in teaching newer members of the department the skills and procedures of both water and wastewater.” Piper continued, “One of Austin’s roles in Underground Facilities is the task of spreading waste lime. His work ethic and organizational skills are key to completing this task timely, accurately, and safely.”

In conclusion, Piper said, “Austin shows the ability to lead the crew in the absence of a foreman and keeps the customer at the forefront.  He is a versatile employee and an asset.”

Shaver joined MMU in January 2023 as a General Maintenance/Meter Reader and he was promoted to System Operator in September 2024. Shaver was also a member of Underground Facilities from July 2016 to October 2020.
