Primary Clarifiers

Primary Clarifiers

Primary Clarifiers

There are three Komeline Sanderson variable speed, positive displacement pumps in the primary pump room. Under normal operations, these pumps move settled sludge from the primary clarifiers to the sludge holding basins for dewatering and subsequent land application.

During 1998, we converted the primary clarifier basins into grease removal basins. The displacement pumps have been removed from the piping arrangement to allow the removal of settled sludge by gravity.

From here, the wastewater flows to the Aeration Basin Pump Station for further treatment.
