SGS - Small General

APPLICATION:

Electric service to customers shall qualify for the Small General Service rate if monthly demand is 25 kW or greater for any one month in the last twelve consecutive month period. If monthly demand for a service is 25 kW or greater for any three months of a twelve consecutive month period, the service will automatically be reclassified to the Small General Service rate.

If monthly demand for a service is less than 25 kW for a twelve consecutive month period, the service will automatically be reclassified to the Commercial rate.

TYPE OF SERVICE:

Single phase or three phase as available, 60 cycles, at one of the Electric Department's standard service voltages.

NET MONTHLY RATE (Including City Electric Revenue Payment):

All Charges are subject to the Energy Cost Adjustment Clause.

BILLING DEMAND

The Billing Demand shall be determined by measurement and shall be the average kW demand during the 15-minute period of maximum kWh use during the billing month, but shall not be less than 25 percent of the maximum Billing Demand during the summer season of the 12 month period ended with the current billing month.

SPACE HEATING

For customers who use electric space heating for the sole means of comfort heating, the rate per kWh, for the winter season, will be $0.048 per kWh for all kWh in excess of the maximum kWh used per month during any of the months of the summer season of the 12 month period ended with the current billing month. This rate does not apply during the subsequent winter season to new customers who were connected to the Department's system, or who have added additional load other than space heating equipment, since the preceding summer season.

TERMS OF SERVICE:

Electric Service under this schedule is subject to all rules and regulations approved by the Board of Public Works of Marshall, Missouri.

TIME OF USE OPTION

Customers with three phase electric service which qualifies for the Small General Service rate have the option of electing the following Time of Use rate. Such election shall be binding for a minimum period of one fiscal year.

Dependent upon material availability, Municipal Utilities may temporarily install, for a period not exceeding 90 calendar days, metering equipment which will enable the collection of time of use information in order to establish potential benefit from the Time of Use rate. During this period, a nonrefundable administrative charge, as described below and in the General Terms and Regulations, is required.

Customers electing the Time of Use rate shall pay any additional cost of metering equipment necessary to obtain time of use information. This charge may be paid in 12 consecutive monthly payments as a portion of the monthly statement.
