MMU Incentive
Capacity-Based Rebate
Marshall Municipal Utilities may offer a rebate of $250 per ton of capacity up to a
maximum of 10 tons ($2,500) per customer for units meeting the following criteria:
- The unit must be installed in a permanent facility served by Marshall
Municipal Utilities.
- The heating/cooling system must be the primary system and have a C.O.P.
of 3.0 or higher and a minimum EER of 12.0.
- Prior to installation, it will be demonstrated to Marshall Municipal Utilities
that the HVAC system has been designed to satisfactorily meet the heating and
cooling needs of the facility. Such demonstration may be made by providing a
printout of calculated heating and cooling loads from an approved load calculation
system, by certification by a mechanical engineer or equivalent, or by such other
means as may be mutually agreed upon.
- MMU shall be notified of the pending installation and the unit shall be subject
to inspection.
Additional Terms
- Only units installed after February 1, 1999, will be eligible for a rebate.
- The per-ton rebate shall be limited to the initial 10 tons of unit capacity
per customer. The Board of Public Works reserves the right to raise this
limitation upon customer request.
- MMU may choose to sub-meter the ground source heat pump system with a "time
of use" meter if the data will provide a useful case study on the efficiency
of ground source heat pump systems or otherwise beneficial analysis.
- The capacity-based rebate may be subject to change or discontinuance if
fiscal responsibilities or budgetary constraints so warrant.
- This incentive program shall become effective February 1, 1999, and will be
reviewed by the Board of Public Works in January, 2001.
