"Providing Hometown Reliability"
December 16, 2009: Marshall -
MMU has announced John Heilman as their Employee of the Year for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2009.
In nominating Heilman, Environmental Services Director Ginny Ismay cited his work during two separate incidents that occurred in August. Ismay's nomination noted Heilman's "good judgment and appropriate actions" when an aeration basin pump at the Wastewater Treatment Plant suffered a catastrophic failure. Without Heilman's actions, the treatment plant "would not have stayed in compliance with both State and Federal regulations." Also noted in the nomination was Heilman's "diligent work in the field and the lab" when he was called to collect and analyze samples during the low chlorine residual incident.

Heilman began his employment with MMU in August, 1975. Heilman left in September of 2002 but returned to the Wastewater Treatment Plant and his position of Operator/Maintenance in December 2004.
