Marshall Municipal Utilities Announces Employee of the Year

MMU has announced Vernie Sleeper as their Employee of the Year for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2007.

Marshall Municipal Utilities has announced Vernie Sleeper as their “Employee of the Year” for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2007. Sleeper was selected by a group of his peers from 11 nominees out of a pool of approximately 85 eligible employees.

In nominating Sleeper, Electric Distribution Director Jeff Bergstrom cited the pride that he takes in his work. Bergstrom's nomination went on to note that Sleeper "keeps facilities clean and never complains, cleaning up mud and whatever else the crews drag in." The nomination also noted Sleeper's contributions toward keeping the conference room prepared for various meetings and training sessions.

Sleeper, who holds the position of Janitor, began his employment with MMU in February 1990.
